BBC Introduces Pearl Mackie As “Bill” – The New Companion On ‘Doctor Who’

Currently starring in the West End in “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”, Pearl Mackie is about to go from talented actor to world-wide phenomenon. Well, at least a year from now…

Already I’m reading commentary that her clothes are reminiscent of Ace (Sophie Aldred), companion to Sylvester McCoy’s Seventh Doctor.  Interesting. And isn’t it also interesting that on the 400th Anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, the BBC announces that the new companion’s name is… Bill?
