A New Take on Arthurian Legend?

A new take on Arthurian legend

Though most of us know of Morgana LeFay through her appearing as a villain in a lot of pulp and comic fiction, that’s not necessarily legend accurate. Even if it is, that’s because the legends were usually told by men. Writer Madeline Holly-Rosing plans to change the perception of King Arthur’s sister in a new comic book series, Morgana Pendragon.

On Kickstarter now, the series flips the script by making Morgana a mercenary. Returning to England to be with her brother at the fall of Camelot, the Morgana of this series will be “older, wiser, and carrying more emotional baggage” than we usually see, according to Holly-Rosing.

Interior art is by Mad Cave talent search winner Alden Kaye, introduced to Holly-Rosing by David Walker. “Once I saw his work, I knew he’d be a perfect fit for this project,” she commented in a press release. Colors are by Warnia Sahadewa, with covers by Rio Burton. From her previous series collected by Source Point Press, Boston Metaphysical SocietyTroy Peteri returns for the lettering.

This new campaign offers rewards including metal bookmarks with art by Alden Kaye, a variant cover by Roberta Ingranata, and magnets with art by Ms. Ingranata and colors by Valentina Pinto.

Back it on Kickstarter here.
