Featuring two of my favorite 21st century DC characters, Battle of the Super Sons hits digital and blu-ray in October. Warner Bros. Entertainment also adds that this will be their first all CG production, but that doesn’t matter much. The only thing that matters is does the story work? From the look of the trailer, we can safely say yes. Jonathan Kent is 11 years old, just discovering his super-powers. Damian Wayne is… pretty much the version of Damian that works. Though the League of Super-Pets will attract little kids, movies focused on these younger heroes will hold their attention in the DC Universe. Plus… Starro. Kids love Starro.
As usual, DC animated films get it.
In the comics, they’ve grown older, and those are valid takes, too. However, as all parents do, I long for the days when the kids were just kids.
