Lionsgate closed out CCXP in Brazil with what looks like a terrific celebration of this summer’s entry from the world of John Wick: Ballerina. Since the fourth entry in that series seemed to have ended it, Lionsgate did the next best thing for the franchise — midquel spin-off!
Actually, Ballerina was announced sometime around the third entry, John Wick 3: Parabellum, so we can blame the pandemic for its delay. Starring Ana de Armas, Norman Reedus, and Ian McShane, it’s quite possible Ballerina will make us forget Mr. Wick — except it’s been clear that Keanu Reeves has kept a hand in it.
Here’s the behind the scenes video CCXP got first, courtesy of Lionsgate:
From Lionsgate:
The action-packed panel kicked off with a spectacular dance and stunt performance by local artists followed by a special conversation with the cast and director. Ana, Ian, Norman and Len were welcomed by a wildly enthusiastic crowd, with cheering fans holding up signs for the cast, and thunderous applause for the new footage.
Ian also shared a moving tribute to his former co-star, Lance Reddick, who played Charon in the JOHN WICK franchise.
Ballerina opens June 6, 2025. If you haven’t seen the trailer released in September, here you go:
