Entertainment Weekly Unveils Doctor Strange

By now, the Hoary Hosts of Holidaygoth have probably left your house, so you have a moment to pause and reflect. You’ve seen The Force Awakens; you’ve already gotten excited about Captain America: Civil War. If you’re a fan, you also spent some time around the holiday table patiently explaining why Batman and Superman are going to fight. So what’s left? To get excited about Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, of course. (I’d lay an even bet that he’s in the post-credits shot of Civil War.)

Entertainment Weekly has the first look, an appearance so new they claim Cumberbatch was using the photo shoot to practice his Ditko-inspired poses. For now, all the magazine has released is the cover, but promises that the full issue will confirm the role Mads Mikkelsen will play. From the cover, we can at least say Benedict Cumberbatch looks a lot like the character co-created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, though a little more from the Roy Thomas/Gene Colan years.

UPDATE: Entertainment Weekly has released the rest of their pictures. Click here.
