Fanboy Planet has a new affiliation through Shopify — Boredwalk! I stumbled across the company through Gabe Sanchez — he who had once been “Gabe” of The Next Door Horror. Basically, I liked their attitude and ordered a few t-shirts for myself. They’re comfortable and cover a wide range of attitudes. A couple of friends on social media asked where I got the shirts when I posted photos of wearing them, so as I was putting a sidebar ad together for the company — unasked, unaffiliated, just love their stuff — I discovered I could be an affiliate.
I did this because I already liked their products and wanted to share my enthusiasm. But official affiliation doesn’t hurt.
For me, Father’s Day ends up being a bit self-indulgent because my father is long gone, and though I’m a father myself, my kids are grown and a few hundred miles away. I appreciate their texts; I just know it’s a weekend to celebrate me, as opposed to all the other weekends when I celebrate me. (Come join me and 140,000 or so of my closest friends for my birthday celebration aka Comic-Con International!)
Long-winded way of saying, purchases made through links to Boredwalk products may generate a commission for Fanboy Planet, as well as directly benefiting an artist owned small business based in Los Angeles that employs a few young actors I know to create comedy and advertising content. Their shirts, towels, and other cloth items are printed in Los Angeles. Their books and games are all printed in North America, using companies in both Canada and the U.S.
By the way, their shirts do come in both men’s and women’s, with some products unisex. I just curated a few in men’s because of Father’s Day.

In addition to running Fanboy Planet, Derek has contributed stories to Arcana Comics (The Greatest American Hero) and Monsterverse Comics (Bela Lugosi's Tales from the Grave). He has performed with ComedySportz, City Lights Theater Company and Silicon Valley Shakespeare, though relocated to Hollywood to... work in an office? If you ever played Eric's Ultimate Solitaire on the Macintosh, it was Derek's voice as The Weasel that urged you to play longer. You can buy his book "I Was Flesh Gordon" on the Amazon link at the right. Email him at [email protected].
