Free Hot Dogs and Comics and Marvel and Lucasfilm?

Free hot dogs and comics

You’re here, so you know that we’ve achieved a rare event. Both Star Wars Day and Free Comic Book Day fall on the same day. It’s a nerd syzygy! If you’re in the Los Angeles area, specifically Hollywood, it gets bigger at Golden Apple Comics. The legendary comics shop on Melrose Ave. has teamed with Disney and another iconic Hollywood location: Pink’s Hot Dogs.

To celebrate the release of two Disney+ Marvel series and two Disney+ Star Wars series in blu-ray steelbook sets last Tuesday, Disney has provided Golden Apple with posters to give away while supplies last. No word on if the steelbooks themselves are available for purchase at the shop, but that’s okay because there’s more!

Free hot dogs and comics

Once you’ve visited Golden Apple Comics, you’ve probably worked up an appetite. If you have a poster, you can go to Pink’s and get one of several hot dogs themed to the day. Your choices include  Obi-Wan Kenobi’s “The ReuBEN Kenobi Dog,” Moon Knight’s “Khonshu’s Fist”, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s “All American” and Andor’s “The Rebel Dog.” Truth be told, I’m a little concerned about eating a “Khonshu’s Fist.” If you choose not to pick up a poster, you can still buy one of the hot dogs.

“But Derek,” you say, “what if I don’t like hot dogs?” We try not to judge here, only critique. Golden Apple Comics has a Free Treasure Hunt that includes a stop at Pink’s Hot Dogs, and presumably explore a little bit of Melrose Avenue. The prize, while supplies last, will be a copy of the Free Comic Book Day issue of Marvel’s Star Wars #1.
