John Carpenter Offers ‘Pause’

John Carpenter Offers Pause

With the many small publishers out there, you might not have seen Storm King Comics. Founded by Sandy Carpenter with her husband John, the publisher focuses on science fiction and horror and… wait. Did you put it together? John Carpenter? As in Master of Horror John Carpenter?

Yes. For several years the Carpenters have been producing comics that offer all kinds of thrills, and today they launched their latest in the “John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction” subline — Pause. Written by Matthew K. Manning and illustrated by Conor Boyle, the 6-issue mini-series unspools a scenario you’ve probably dreamed about. What if time stopped for everyone but you?

Sound like heaven? This is a tale endorsed by John Carpenter, so it’s probably going to be hell. EXCEPT… Storm King put together a trailer for the comic with a score by Carpenter himself along with Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies. The soundtrack is “Beyond the Gallows” from the album “Lost Themes IV: Noir.”

Enjoy and ask for Pause at your local comic shop.
