NERF Has A Mascot

Murph the NERF

Meet Murph. He’s here to help “unleash the play in you.” Made of NERF foam dart material — and looking a bit like an anthropomorphic Koosh ball — he’ll be coming your way this summer through social media, commercials, and no doubt convention appearances. And he’ll be demonstrating the latest in NERF technology that makes soft, safe fun. How did this toy line go 50 years without a mascot?

FUN.

Murph the NERF
How… how tall is this thing in real life?

Are you still here? Does this feel like Hasbro is actually launching an alien invasion?

He’s here to help unleash the fear in you. If you see this thing shambling toward you at Comic-Con, it will do no good to run. Because he’s armed. Armed with soft, safe fun.

Don’t be fooled by his skin’s resemblance to ice cream sprinkles. He’ll reach for you. Just remember, whatsoever knows fear, burns at the Murph-Thing’s touch.

FUN.

FUN.

Seriously, NERF technology has really advanced since I was a kid. It IS fun. I just don’t know if I needed Murph to help me unleash the play in me. I get it — the toys get knock-offs made all the time. Notice how intricate the sculpting is to make each look unique. We’re a long way from a foam football.

It’s also no accident he looks like a Koosh. Same toy line, right? We’ll have Murph Koosh figures by Christmas. In the meantime, you can follow Murph’s upcoming adventures on official NERF social channels on TikTok, InstagramFacebook, and YouTube.

Be ready. Be safe.

Unleash the play.
