SDCC 2022: Pizza Poppa!

Big Poppa Pizza

It’s Saturday morning at Comic-Con; in an alternate world, one of Pizza Poppa’s busiest times to sell his famous pizza meatballs. If history foretells correctly in this world, this will be the busiest day to just be here. Thus it’s a great day to get out and see the many activations that studios have set up. Some are easy to see as you’re walking past the San Diego Convention Center, and some are tucked out of the way. If you’re a Marvel Studios fan, and especially if you’re a Bruce Campbell fan, you’ll want to find Disney’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness activation, conveniently next to their Bob’s Burgers activation.

(On that one, apparently those burgers have gone FAST.)

On the strip between the Omni Hotel and the Convention Center, you may see giant inflatables. Though they’re from other projects, they’re your visual guide to burgers and pizza. Except actually, they don’t serve pizza meatballs at Pizza Poppa’s cart. They just let you play an old carnival game that’s perfectly appropriate for Bruce Campbell’s cameo appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Sure. a Sanctum Sanctorum photo op is fun, but have you ever faced down multiple Campbells with a mallet?

That is, of course, the Beaker to my Bunsen Honeydew, Steph.

The prize for taking out your frustrations on Mr. Campbell?

Big Poppa Pizza

You bet we’re framing that for the Enchanted Geeky Room.
