It’s starting to feel like the old Comic-Con again, what with all the major trailers for films and TV shows being released. And unlike last year, the casts and writers are here and can talk about their projects. Today Paramount held a panel for Transformers One, showing the audience the new trailer that they released online shortly thereafter. In addition to hearing cast and crew talk about the animated prequel film, each attendee got a poster. Paramount was kind enough to send us the image as well.
I know that purists would love it if Peter Cullen voiced the Autobot who will become Optimus Prime. Maybe that will happen at the end. I’m just happy to see Tom DeSanto still attached to the project. Way back at my first Comic-Con in 2000, he was enthusiastic and excited to be shepherding what would become the live-action film franchise. Twenty-five years later, the franchise continues to have life on the big screen. Not bad for a toy line, albeit one of the coolest.
From Paramount:
TRANSFORMERS ONE is the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever. In the first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie, TRANSFORMERS ONE features a star-studded voice cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, with Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm.
