Since the revival of Doctor Who in 2005, Comic-Con and Gallifrey have gone together like fish fingers and custard. At last, the Comic-Con Museum has installed a TARDIS and a major exhibit to go with it. With occasional narration from series contributor Mark Gatiss, attendees can step through that blue box and into a world of wonder.
Under license from the BBC, Sarner International teamed with the museum for this exhibit which uses fandom as a gateway to science education.
Sure, there are monsters, but there are also experts weighing in on topics such as space travel and global warming. The exhibit also covers how technology has changed in the 60+ years that the Doctor has been appearing in our living rooms while we hid behind the sofa.
Oh, yes, there are monsters. Did I mention monsters?
Some are friendlier than they look, and some are the Meep.
The Comic-Con Museum didn’t provide photos, but a section of the exhibition features all 17 of the Doctor’s costumes. I assume they mean just for Ncuti Gatwa.
I’m hoping to see the exhibit soon myself, because I know that like the TARDIS, the Comic-Con Museum always seems bigger on the inside…
