With less than a month to go until Universal Studios Hollywood opens “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter,” the Los Angeles theme park announced they’re doubling down on the immersive experiences. This summer, The Walking Dead invades year-round. Already a pretty popular attraction at Universal’s “Hollywood Horror Nights” for the past few years, it makes sense that it the park would strike while the iron is still hot.
We haven’t received full details, but they released the following video this afternoon:
My guess is that it would be in the Horror Maze near the entrance to the park; it’s not the kind of thing that would sit well with some guests if it were open air, where children could see it. It can’t be part of the studio tour, could it? Maybe where the BART train earthquake simulator is? Then again, that means children (and Derek) would see it. No, I’m sticking to the Horror Maze. It’s that crashed helicopter scene that has me nervous.
Is it enough to siphon off lines from the Wizarding World, which would be close by? For some patrons, maybe. And if you can push a little further, you could stumble into Springfield and enjoy a Lard Lad doughnut or two. The only thing I can say for sure is that Universal Studios has upped the game with immersive attractions, so I won’t be going through this one. I’ll be across the promenade enjoying a butter beer.
