Are you ready to rock? Z2 Comics is, and they’re bringing the talent to Comic-Con to prove it! How have they succeeded when other rock and roll comics imprints (including Rock and Roll Comics) have failed? Maybe it’s timing. Maybe it’s fandom. Maybe it’s top talent coming together to adapt song and album concepts from some of the best storytellers in the music business — and I 100% include “Weird Al” Yankovic in that.
Because Z2 has done more than brought currently popular bands to the comics page — look through their catalog and you’ll find classic jazz albums as well. And with the Last Podcast on the Left now doing The Last Comic Book on the Left, bringing in Count Crowley creator and actor David Dastmalchian, their horizons are broadening. Notice that Schitt’s Creek breakout star Emily Hampshire has a book coming up from Z2.
Face it, if you’re in San Diego, you owe it to yourself to stop by their booth and their panels at some point, and find out how solid this company is.

Z2 Comics will storm Comic-Con International in San Diego next week with a flurry of talent and panels spotlighting our current and upcoming graphic novels. On Thursday, Diplo, Walshy Fire, and Ape Drums—better known as the globally celebrated electro-reggae epiphany Major Lazer—will introduce their new graphic novel, Year Negative One, alongside creative director/cartoonist Ferry Gouw.
On Friday, Schitt’s Creek breakout star Emily Hampshire will show an exclusive preview of her upcoming graphic novel, Amelia Aierwood: Basic Witch, opening a door to an enchanting new world where the mundane and mystical collide in hilarious, charming, and touching ways. Also on Friday: the morbid, mischievous trio behind The Last Podcast on the Left—Ben Kissel, Henry Zebrowski, and Marcus Parks—will haunt the halls of the San Diego Convention Center with pages from The Last Comic Book on the Left, alongside contributor and famed actor David Dastmalchian (Count Crowley, Suicide Squad). Prepare to snicker and shriek.
