Comic-Con 2016: Things To Do With Hot Wheels

Mattel caught my attention this year with a few things — not just their full-sized (and they claim actually working) “carship” based on a Star Wars X-Wing Fighter. Though that certainly is impressive. They’ve got a full line under the Hot Wheels brand that changes things up from the traditional (though creative) cars. And they figured out a way to display their variety of cross-branding products in a very, very Comic-Con way that borders on art. After drooling over the X-Wing, check out the dioramas that are probably what it’s like to watch certain movies and shows if you’re trapped in the world of Cars.

The dioramas are clever, and definitely make a unique way to display some cool Hot Wheels product. Take for instance what Gotham City would look like all in Hot Wheels…

Or what happened when Spider-Man encountered the Rhino…

How about a trip to Bikini Bottom? (I don’t know how these cars don’t rust…)

You need 4-Wheel Drive to escape the Sarlacc Pit…

And definitely need to get it in gear to rescue Princess Peach… or is that Princess Porsche?

Well done, Mattel. Better than cars lined up, this got me to stop and look and ponder — do I have room on my shelves for these?
