A chance to celebrate several of my cool friends? Take that, Jeff May! Some of you may remember that years ago the Fanboy Planet podcast did a few live recordings from 7 Stars Bar & Grill in San Jose. Owners Paul and Marya Cunha had outfitted a former sports bar into a place for the well-rounded geek. First it was Star Wars toys all over the place, but it’s hard not to let other fandoms in. The place became the place I wanted to hang out in more often, but then I moved and the pandemic happened.
Last year, they found a new location in an even better location for the revived night life of California. Located at 400 E. Campbell Ave. in, naturally, Campbell California, the revived 7 Stars felt even friendlier than the old one. Trivia nights, karaoke nights, and nerditry EVERY night.
In truth, I think I first met Paul through friend and former member of the podcast Lon Lopez. For the past several years Lon has been killing it with stop-motion action figure shorts, so creating an ad for 7 Stars is a long overdue no-brainer. It’s been public for a few weeks but I’ve been in Hawaii, so here it is: The 7 Stars Animated Special from TBNT Productions — one more reason to stop by the coolest bar in Campbell!
