For some reason, monsters dig surf rock. If you ever encounter a misshapen thing in a graveyard, bust out some Dick Dale and you’ll be safe. Don’t argue with me; it’s science.
We have no better resource for this information than Monster Forge Productions, the multimedia company co-founded by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night, Frankenstein Alive! and more) and Shannon Eric Denton (animator extraordinaire and co-producer of Alan Tudyk’s Con Man). Holding the rights to many of both comics creators’ concepts and creating many new ones, the company has begun breaking out all over the place. Hot on the heels of Dark Horse Comics teasing an anthology book, Monster Forge dropped two theme song tracks this week. Songs for the anthology? Maybe. With words by Denton and narration by Kevin Grevioux, all that matters is they’ll get you into the right vibe. You’ll be rocking out with the undead in no time.
First up, appropriately enough: “Monster Forge” by Koolshaver.
Chilling and thrilling enough for you? Try “Ring the Bell” by Zorgon. This one has a little more space age bachelor pad feel to it, appropriate for what seems to be a theme for vampire seductresses in a techno setting. Denton calls it their party song. I’m ready for that party.
Keep an eye and ear out for more from Monster Forge. They don’t have to be your own.
