Though every year we get previews of films playing at Cinequest in San Jose, those are watched on computer. It can’t beat being in a theater as part of an audience. Since the pandemic, Cinequest split into two — an online film festival in March they now call Cinejoy and then the chance to gather together and hob nob with the hoi polloi in August. And so they have indeed confirmed the dates for August 2023. Better yet, they’ve expanded to both San Jose and a truly terrific theater complex in Mountain View. I can’t be there this year (though I will be reviewing films), but maybe you can. If so, you should. The nightlife alone is terrific.

Cinequest Announces the 2023 Summer edition of the Cinequest Film & Creativity Festival will occur August 15 – 30 in San Jose and (for the first time) Mountain View, California!
Downtown San Jose venues include the spectacular California and Hammer Theaters plus Hangouts and Parties at The Continental, Unzipped, Mama Kin, The Tech Museum, and Beautiful New San Jose Buildings!
