David Hartman, Phantasm, and Fun

In our interview posted earlier this week, David Hartman and I talked about his live-action directing debut, Phantasm V: Ravager. When editing the main interview aboutĀ Monster Drive-In vol. 2: Hunchback of Naughty Dames, theĀ Phantasm talk was interesting but more of a side journey, so I cut it.

However, we talk about teaching yourself CGI, scaring the crap out of me when I was 12, and a hopeful (?) note on AI. Not necessarily in that order. So why not have a bonus video? Here it is–a focused journey into David Hartman’s filmmaking experience. Then you can teach yourself how to create special effects by deep-diving into YouTube… but you’re on your own there.
