Becoming Betty Boop at the Comic-Con Museum

Right before this year’s Comic-Con, my wife and I had the opportunity to visit the Comic-Con Museum in Balboa Park. While the main exhibit we saw, “Popnology,” has since closed, I’m happy to report that “Becoming Betty Boop” will still be running into 2025. And honestly, this was the one that enthralled me above the rest — though everything there was cool.

As a huge animation fan, I’ve always loved the work of The Fleischer Studios. The video below covers some of that enthusiasm, but this exhibit brought it home, and of COURSE I bought the biography in the gift shop. (If you can’t make it to Balboa Park, I’ve got a helpful Amazon link here.)
