Everyone is a friend of Frendo. As long as you’re well-behaved and consume your corn syrup-infused snacks. Except Kettle Springs’ corn syrup production has seen better days. The teens have started stepping out of line. You know what that means…
The perfectly named Clown in a Cornfield is a 2020 YA horror novel by Adam Cesare, which not only became a trilogy but has now been made into a film. Cesare and I briefly talked about it last year after he wrote the screenplay for Last Night at Terrace Lanes. As a result, I read the novel and loved it, so I already planned on watching the film adaptation.
Now that the trailer has dropped, there’s a bonus. It’s directed by Eli Craig, the mad genius behind one of my all-time favorite horror comedies, Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil, with a script by Craig and Carter Blanchard. Then throw in one of my favorite actors, Kevin Durand. Basically, I’m ready to wait in the cornfield for Frendo.
Except first it has to play at SXSW in March, with a May 9 release that may be theatrical before going to Shudder. People, a good horror film deserves to be seen in a crowd. So join me in the cornfield…
