Celebrating Nelvana at Star Wars Celebration!

Celebrating Nelvana at Star Wars Celebration

A long time ago in a Canada far, far away, three animators came together to form Nelvana Productions. George Lucas liked what they were doing, and tapped them to introduce Boba Fett to the world. In their influential careers afterward, they kept Star Wars alive with Droids and Ewoks on Saturday mornings.

This week two co-founders Michael Hirsh and Clive Smith will attend their first Star Wars Celebration to talk about their time working with Lucas — but they stopped to talk to Fanboy Planet first!

We reminisce about those shows as well as the comic book adaptations that got away. At least one might make your jaw drop with x-citement! You can read about it further in Michael’s book Animation Nation: How We Built a Cartoon Empire.
