One line sums up the key difference between Superman and Supergirl. “He sees the good in everyone, and I see the truth.” Kal-El feels the loss of Krypton, of course, but Kara Zor-El saw it. That will mess a person up.
Inspired by Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s comics series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Supergirl has a gritty feel that Superman rightly didn’t. He offers hope; Kara has to learn to have it. As Supergirl, Milly Alcock has the steel; it’s just a little rusted. Directed by Craig Gillespie (Cruella) from a script by Ana Nogueira, Supergirl lands in theaters on June 26.
Highlights:
- Krypto appears frequently in the trailer
- A feel of alien worlds — including are we seeing Argo City getting domed? Or… Kandor getting bottled?
- A quick glimpse of Jason Momoa as Lobo
