Cinequest 2014: Blood Punch

Blood Punch

For years, Cinequest has been a great mix of high art cinema and great midnight movies. It’s never limited itself to one genre. And so up comes another film that Fanboy Planet readers will find interesting, though a little bloody.

Blood Punch works as a crime thriller, a horror movie and a celebration for those who have ever watched an episode of Power Rangers and thought “what if they got really weird?” Yeah. It’s like that, because many of the cast and crew actually worked on the only Power Rangers series I’d ever seen more than one episode of — Power Rangers RPM.

So this is a bit of the dark side of a group of people who have spent time working on children’s entertainment and really wanted to break the mold. WARNING: TRAILER CONTAINS GRAPHIC VIOLENCE
