Enter ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children’

From the moment I first saw Ransom Riggs’ novel at a store, I knew Tim Burton was going to direct the movie. That’s without having any clue what the book was about. And to this day, I still haven’t read it, though I did pick up an excerpt from [amazon text=the graphic novel&asin=B00CRMASUQ] adaptation. It had me intrigued. On the surface, it seems like a 1940s X-Men combined with Freaks, and thus, it’s a perfect Burton project.

And if the thought of Burton “the visionary director” no longer excites you, note that he is collaborating with screenwriter Jane Goldman, who did a pretty good job with X-Men: First Class and Stardust, so… maybe this will shake Burton out of the “been there, done that” feel of his last few films.

So bask in the poster, and the brief teaser. And check out [amazon text=the book&asin=1594746036], because there is something there that will catch your imagination, even if you weren’t a peculiar child.
