Micronauts Variant Covers to Celebrate the Omnibus

Micronauts variant covers

Of course Marvel would tout the omnibus edition of one of the jewels in their crown from the early ’80s. Especially as it’s only been partially reprinted in an IDW Artist’s Edition. The Micronauts are back, even if we don’t have new versions of their toys. Based off of a line of Japanese toys adapted to the American market by MEGO, it took Bill Mantlo and Michael Golden to turn them into classics.

Escaping from the Microverse into the Marvel Universe, these tiny warriors did team with several Marvel heroes. So for the most part, these variant covers on regular Marvel books in April aren’t too far off. Deadpool and Venom weren’t around then, but you can’t leave them out of these things. If Marvel has the rights to actually weave the Micronauts back in officially*, a Deadpool crossover would be fun.

The variant covers will be released every other week starting April 1, 2024, with The Micronauts: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus due April 14.

*The characters do technically still exist in Marvel continuity as “Enigma Force.” One member of the team, Bug, somehow attained full size and was a founding member of the modern Guardians of the Galaxy.
