Red Suits. Big White Eyes. Overdue Marvel Team-Up.

Whether this was Rob Liefeld’s intention or not oh so long ago, there are a lot of similarities between Deadpool and Spider-Man. To those who only know the characters through licensing, they look practically alike, with visual icons that boil down to red circles with big outlined white eyes. They both have the reputation of being wise-asses. And like it or not, children love them both, because again, licensing means nobody quite realizes how psychopathic Deadpool actually is.

In the All New All Different Marvel, they’re both Avengers, and Peter Parker hates Wade Wilson. It’s an interesting dynamic that could make for an interesting mini-series (though Marvel calls it ongoing) but probably NOT one for children.

Joe Kelly gets a lot of credit for making Deadpool’s reputation, so it should be interesting to have him return further down the character’s evolution. And Ed McGuinness on art is always a treat. Deadpool fans will eat it up. Will Spider-Man fans?
