Comics creator Steven Prince loved monsters and matadors. Why not put the two together? Monster Matador has evolved from a webcomic to full-fledged #Matadorverse. The latest mini-series, Monster Matador: Afripocalypse successfully funded through Kickstarter, and Steven’s about to launch the campaign for the next chapter. After meeting at L.A. ComicCon in December, 2021, we sat down a few months ago for a long conversation about taking his idea to fruition, and how it’s changed with the times.
In Part 1 of our conversation Steven talked about developing the idea and producing the webcomic. In Part 2, he covers doing a completely self-produced comic to bringing in an outside art team for what would become Monster Matador: Tango of the Matadors. You can get all of it, the entire Monster Matador saga, in his compendium edition currently on Kickstarter.
