As Craig Price describes Labyrinth, “...frustrated with her baby brother, 16-year-old Sarah wishes the goblins would take him away—only to have her wish granted. Given thirteen hours to navigate a fantastical labyrinth, she must journey through a maze of strange creatures and challenges to rescue him from the Goblin King.” Who hasn’t been there?
Luckily, Craig and his co-host Elisabeth Rappe of the Matinee Heroes podcast invited me on to talk about the classic film. But is it a classic? I admit I always want to love it more than I actually do. We talk about that, the power of David Bowie, and what really works about this Jim Henson classic — and I’m not just talking about Bowie’s codpiece.
There’s also some Comic-Con talk, but you should expect that when they bring me on. Stay tuned to the end for what I hope is an interesting choice for a double feature — if you can find it at your local video store!
