Welcome to Wicked Town: A Conversation with Francis Stokes and Andrea Dailey

Welcome to Wicked Town

Welcome to Wicked Town. Livvy Castle is a seemingly perfect homemaker, stifling in 1970s suburbia. Sure, she always felt she was special – and she’s right. Livvy has a unique healing power, something she can’t explain, but she’s had it since childhood. She just uses it to heal her kid’s scraped knees or bruises. She assumes it’s a miracle, like a gift from God. And then she meets the local Bridge Club, which might just be a coven of witches…

Filmmaker Francis Stokes and artist Andrea Dailey have come together to create Wicked Town. Kickstarting this week, the book promises the vibes of The Stepford Wives meeting Hereditary, with Dailey bringing her own spin with just a touch of horror manga. The two spoke with me earlier in October about connecting as creators and launching their own studio.
