Chris Mancini: From Film Nerd to Alpha Cat

From Film Nerd to Alpha Cat

Creator Chris Mancini has worn many hats over the years. As a Comedy Film Nerd, he’s podcasted and written about his own taste in movies while also making short indie comedies. A few years ago, he turned his love of comics into creating his own. Teamed with artist Fernando Pinto, Chris created Long Ago and Far Away, followed by Rise of the Kung Fu Dragon Masterreleased through his own production company White Cat Entertainment.

With those books being released in stores through Massive Comics, Chris and Fernando have turned White Cat’s mascot into a new adventure, Alpha Cat. It’s currently in the midst of a solid Kickstarter campaign.

Sure, we bump into each other at conventions all the time, but it’s been a while since we really talked. Last week, we connected via Streamyard to promote Alpha Cat and talk about navigating the comics marketplace in 2025.
