Doctor Who: “Time Crash”

Seeing Peter Davison at Gallifrey One this year reminded me of the (sadly) first time I’d seen him as The Doctor. Due to problems getting the local PBS station at the time, I’d not seen his series as the Fifth Doctor, so “Time Crash,” a short done for the UK’s Children in Need charity, was my first encounter with him.

Set between the end of the third series of the modernĀ Doctor Who and the Christmas special “Voyage of the Damned,” “Time Crash” brings Davison’s Fifth Doctor in contact with David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor — an obvious honor for Tennant, who grew up watching Davison and means it when he says “you’re my Doctor.” (And, as it would happen, Davison became Tennant’s father-in-law as well.)

Enjoy this blast from the past. Davison says he did, too.
