GI Joe Classified: Root of Evil

GI Joe Classified Root of Evil

Filmmaker and former FBP podcaster Lon Lopez truly found his groove with the Action Figure Action Movie series he and his production partner Rob Wilson started in his garage years ago. Using stop motion and his action figure collection, he began an epic of heroism and corruption in a fictitious big city — that pretty much fits on his driveway. But they paused development of the next chapter to create a true labor of love — GI Joe Classified: Root of Evil.

After all, his love of action figures started with G.I. Joe in the 1980s. This fan film combines both the figures and the animated series that burned into Lon and Rob’s young minds. They even got a surprise guest star who actually is an official G.I. Joe.* The fan film debuted at the Honolulu Comic Con, and Lon will hopefully be showing up at a few more conventions to share his work and his love for this franchise.

*There is no official endorsement from Sgt Slaughter and/or Hasbro Inc.

And as I’m also in this film as the voice of Beachhead, hopefully I’ll get to hang out with Lon again at one or two of those conventions.
