This is more like it. It’s not loud. It’s got character moments. It starts by focusing on the relationship between McCoy and Kirk, then later an interaction between McCoy and Spock. We need more McCoy. There’s no way around that it’s annoying that the Enterprise is getting destroyed by the third movie, but there’s also no avoiding it at this point. Give me the crew the way I loved them while also letting this modern cast put their own spin on it, and I’m happy.
