Though I see the administrative potential, in general I am against the use of AI in the creative arts. Polymath filmmaker Leo Partible seems to be, too. But at WonderCon this past weekend, he announced that he has joined the company AIM Director. Offering an AI platform to creators, it would seem to be a virtual production crew.

Leo and I have been friends for a while. When he first told me about AIM Director, he saw my face pinch a bit. As we talked, though, it wasn’t so much that he persuaded me as gave me a perspective I hadn’t thought of before. He agreed to join me on a Zoom call for a short conversation, which turned out to be much longer than either of us planned. Because first Leo had to tell me why he agreed with me: AI cannot replace creative spirits. That’s today’s segment of our extended conversation.
